What is the Small Business Trade Credit Payment Dataset?

Quick answer

The Small Business Trade Credit Payment Dataset, or SBTCP Dataset, contains the reportable trade credit payments made to suppliers identified as small businesses for PTRS purposes.

What does this mean?

After preparing the TCP Dataset, the supplier ABNs are run through the Small Business Identification Tool. Payments to suppliers identified by the tool as small businesses are included in the SBTCP Dataset, subject to the applicable treatment of items such as partial payments. The SBTCP Dataset is then used for calculations including average, median, percentile payment times and payments made within terms.

Practical point

The SBTCP Dataset should not be built directly from the accounts payable ledger. The Regulator's process is to prepare the TCP Dataset first and then apply the small-business identification step.
